Daisy's Bark: August Newsletter

Hello and welcome to Daisy's Bark - August's newsletter.

August is here, and while summer may be winding down, the fun is far from over. This month, we’re soaking up the sunshine (safely!), finding creative ways to beat the heat, and sharing tips to keep your furry friends happy, healthy, and cool. Whether you're planning a late summer getaway or just enjoying lazy days at home, we've got plenty of dog-friendly ideas to make August paws-itively awesome!

🌊 Splash into Summer Fun

Cool off with some water play! Set up a kiddie pool in the backyard, visit a dog-friendly beach or lake, or find a local dog splash pad. Always supervise and provide shade breaks.

🍦 DIY Frozen Treats

Make some tasty pupsicles using ingredients like plain yogurt, mashed banana, and peanut butter. Freeze in silicone molds or ice cube trays for a fun, cooling snack.

🌅 Go for Sunrise or Sunset Walks

Avoid the midday heat by walking early in the morning or later in the evening. Not only is it cooler, but the scenery is beautiful too—and better for your pup’s paws.

🏕️ Plan a Dog-Friendly Adventure

Take a weekend trip to a dog-welcoming campsite, hiking trail, or pet-friendly Airbnb. Just don’t forget their travel essentials—bowls, leash, ID tags, and a comfy bed.

🏠 Beat the Heat Indoors

On extra hot days, keep your dog active indoors with puzzle toys, indoor fetch, or a homemade obstacle course using pillows and furniture.

🎉 Celebrate ‘Dogust’ Birthdays

Did you know August 1st is celebrated as the universal birthday for rescue dogs? Throw your pup a mini party with dog-safe cake, a new toy, and lots of cuddles.

🛁 Spa Day, Anyone?

Pamper your pup with a cool bath, grooming session, or even a gentle paw massage. It’s a great way to relax together and help them feel their best.

The rescue organizations for Daisy's Cause are chosen by your suggestions on our website, daisysdogcollars.com, where you can email us through our Contact page. While you're there, check out Daisy's Blog for August; Dog Days of August: Keeping Cool & Wag On.
